ABLA ELT CONFERENCE- “TEACHERS AS LEARNERS”

ABLA ELT CONFERENCE- “TEACHERS AS LEARNERS”

JULY 30-31, 2010  Cali Colombia
Teachers work daily with the processes, problems and rewards of learning. Yet, as involved as teachers are with the learning of others, they may be neglecting their own. Teachers are natural learners, natural advocates of the philosophy of life-long learning and growth. But, how much time do teachers dedicate to their own professional development and growth? How many teachers are happy with their current teaching position, the state of their studies, or the latest version of their CV? While learning and knowledge become more accessible, teachers may feel lost in the information age. Many teachers need to become more familiar with training and development opportunities available to help them improve their professional profile. They need information on how to develop action research projects in order to become knowledge managers in their workplace.
They need concrete advice on how to identify good, innovative ideas and prepare them for presentations at professional conferences. They also need to walk in step with the latest technology in order to adapt their use of resources appropriately.
